Kalpit Veerwal’s Journey: From JEE Main All India Rank 1 to building an Edutech startup




One of the hardest tests in India and the world is IIT-JEE. Thousands of students from around India try to get into IIT by taking the IIT-JEE exam every year. This is accomplished by passing the JEE Main and Advanced tests, prerequisites for admission to IITs. Preparing for this test takes a great deal of effort and commitment. After making history in the entrance exam, he enrolled in IIT Bombay with the clear intention of launching his own company, which had always been his dream. Since he started at IIT, he has had a clear objective. He set out to earn enough money in college to not sit for placement. To assist others, he started publishing essays on the internet about his study techniques. He eventually received positive feedback from the readers, which encouraged him to start a YouTube account during his second year at IIT.

To focus on expanding his channel and educational website, AcadBoost, Kalpit Veerwal forwent internships on campus. He developed his first online course for the education website the next year. In the initial months, he managed to sell enough to outsell the most expensive package that IIT Bombay CSE was providing at the time. To focus on his education business, he chose to forego the placements.

Throughout the next two years, the business steadied. Every month since its start, it has turned a profit and experienced a rise in the number of students. It never raised any money in spite of numerous approaches from PE firms, well-known investors, and acquisition attempts by various EdTech organisations. He has invested all of the funds in different businesses, stocks, real estate, etc., to build a healthy passive income portfolio.
